So I am trying to get voice to work in my sim, says its on but isnt yet I suppose. In any case I am a SL performer, last night trying to mute all the SL and UI sounds (footsteps, wind, ui etc.) but that water sound maybe wind? will not mute... I could only mute it by muting the main slider on the lower right of the UI.. and damn is this one nasty clunky UI with the crazy chatterbox and giant take the bottom up of the UI controls ...BLAH!!!!!
other wise loved voice in beta cant wait to get it up and running on my parcel, maybe I need to set something different there?
2.) used to be able to run SL on my laptop (yeah I know the Intell 925 isnt supported) but it ran great up until the last update now it gives windows a stop error with in minutes , latest drivers in stalled any suggestions? its just a spare for the road is all guess on travels I willhave to leave behind SL

Have you tried doing View Beacons Sound Sources to help find where the sound is coming from?
Does where you are at or where you are looking have any effect on how loud the sound is?
Are you sure you aren't hearing 60 cycle hum?
What sim and coordinates is this problem at?

Suezanne, no its the UI wind sound... I will check if maybe its the pond or pool but I believe I hear it everywhere.

So as I never had sounds on I did not know that this water I had in a pond made noise. I found it using a beacon (Thanks SuezanneC) a delete of the loop script and the play and the wave file did it. the worst part is was not only effecting my land but also crossing the sim boarder and as well voice is not listed here yet ... still waiting

From: Distilled1 Rush the worst part is was not only effecting my land but also crossing the sim boarder In About Land, under Options, "Restrict Spatialized Sound to this Parcel" will take care of sound from your parcel bleeding over onto someone else's land  . One thing to note is that wouldn't stop the (more common) reverse case of a neighbour's sound bleeding over onto your land unfortunately.
