I just DLed Windlight First Look the other day. I am very impressed with the graphics and the overall usabilty. I have one thing that I'd like to see added: The "Client" menu at the top of the screen. I like having the ability to turn on of off certain animations, such as the typing animation and sounds, while roaming around the world. Oh, I guess there is one more thing. The glint of sunlight off the water makes it very hard to see detail in object that you are trying to look at near the shoreline. Maybe pull the glare off the water just a bit...? Anyway, that's really all I have to say for now. Other than that, everything is great with the Windlight software that I can tell.

Talking of improvements to windlight, i'd like to see again the possibility to have the clouds and water effects separated like in the brand first days of windlight (some of us will remember ) I'm using a 1,5Ghz with 768Mb of RAM with a Geforce 5500FX and i didn't lagged at all when clouds were enabled... But since clouds comes with water effects (that makes me lag like hell when enabled, even before windlight) I can't enjoy the clouds at least like before... Separate the clouds effects and water effects would be a good thing for those who have an old computer like me

From: buttbadger Mirabeau Separate the clouds effects and water effects would be a good thing for those who have an old computer like me They are separated, only LL deems certain cards "unworthy" of seeing ripple, reflective water without atmospheric shaders turned on even though they're perfectly capable of it. In gpu_table.txt (in your SL folder), search for your FX 5500 and change the 0 behind it to 1 (keep the formatting intact though) and log back on. You'll have ripple water, reflections and glow enabled now with just "Basic Shaders" turned on, and "Atmospheric Shaders" turned off. If you want it the other way around (new clouds, but not the new water) that's not going to be possible, because it's all the extra fluff in addition to the clouds that old cards aren't terribly capable of.
