Windlight good for outside, what about inside?

Windlight seems to be really good for outside areas, but it really seems to throw off lighting in doors as far as I can tell. Is there anyway for windlight to actually have sunlight blocked by items, so that inside doesnt have sunlight shining through the prims?

that's a real problem for SL, because buildings don't allow you to account for their own lighting models. I think the only easy fix for SL here is to tone down the light, the hard fix (making the buildings have their own lighting models like modern games) is probably too hard to implement and maintain the collaborative environment that characterises SL.
