I am wondering if the Lindens are aware that the mandatory download for the first look client that was issued today is not working. I went to the download page and installed it. I get the old log in screen and (attempt 1) then kick. So I have to use the regular client and refuse that optional upgrade. Please submit new First Look upgrade so we can have voice over the weekend.

Hmm, worked for me?

I couldn't, and haven't been able to for the last three or so downloads, been able to download the new updates from the client, ei; open the client, click login, get the update notifier, click update, and it fails.

However, I went to the site, and downloaded the new update for the Firstlook and it worked just peachy.

Possibly you are using an old shortcut that points to an old version.

I did it again from the download page and still get the classic log in screen. And then it wont connect. The non-voice enabled download has the new screen and connects with no problem.

Perhaps your browser is not displaying the correct link.

I just did it after reading your post, and it worked for me from the link on http://secondlife.com/community/firstlook.php , which had the link given above.

Are you allowing the installation program to start SL?

Auto update did not work. Had to go thur the download page. But it worked from there. No problems.

My Norton Anti Virus seems to have gone renegade. And it wont let me uninstall it or access its settings. SO I am installing Norton 360. The 360 is trying to uninstall the Norton 2006 - but it looks like a loosing battle.

UPDATE: Got the norton fixed and mow I see purple whisper text? I saw others complaining about this new feature so I guess I am fixed

I tried several time to download the update, it kept reporting that my Firewall was preventing it... pfft.. my firewall is setup to allow secondlife to download, and I've never had that problem previously. When I tried multiple time to download from the secondlife website downloads page, it kept timing out. Why don't the just bite the bullet and give us a direct link to the amazon webpage?

I see a poster has given that, thanks.

Yes our firewalls are prepared to let Second Life in. But it's not prepared to let this voice chat software in. Thats what you have to look out for.

Graphic:Nvidia GeForce2 MX/AGP/SSe2/3dNOW!
Open Gl version:1.5.7
LLMoz,version: 1.1.0 (Mozilla Gre:1.8.0.9-0000000000
Downloaded viewer:Voice Beta 1.18.0(123)
Played w/ firewall...changed Prefrences, using a current and PAID acct...and yes my caps lock IS off...been to every thread and "Voice Mentor" wiki....I even have a Logitec USB headset...but THAT doesnt help if one keeps recieving "Login Failed"! Can anyone suggest another course of action? (also posted on what i thought was another appropriate thread)
