First Look is not giving the accept dialog on vendors. This is not related to the bug about vendors on the blog page. I have replicated this in world just now with the First Look and regular clients. The regular client is unaffected by the bug.

the accept dialog comes up quickly after the dialog where you paid the person, and quickly disappears, giving you no chance to accept it. You pays your money, and lose your purchase. This is a serious bug.

Do not use the present version of First Look (1.13.3.58185) for shopping.

Yes, I also have dialog problems in 58185.

I believe a workaround may be to..
When it tells you "You paid Theirname", if there is a yellow >> in the corner of the dialog, click that.
Then hopefully you will be at the dialog asking you to keep or decline the object.

I only tried this on my own vendor, however.. The keep/decline dialog came up over the "You paid Ashrilyn Hayashida etc." window and didn't disappear.. but clicking the >> would let me go from one to the other.. I don't know what to say. :\

If you didn't accept an item, look in your trash, it should be there.

Lost items in transaction
02-24-2007 05:06
This is unfortunant. Losing items because of UI issues is really unacceptable. This issue has been replicated and reported via Bug report; but, it does need widely disseminated to the masses that are using the FL viewer; but, are not part of the FL group for notices. And it should have been warned of as soon as it was noted, in group notices. I've yet to see one sent.

Steve, I lost a 1,250L item because of this and it makes me a little perturbed that I wasn't quickly notified of this as it was posted that this issue was fixed in the blog entry yesterday. When, posting information such as this, please CONFIRM that this issue is, indeed, FIXED. This brings your credibility to a lower standing.

Until a newer release of the viewer is posted, I will have to use the official viewer. This needs to be posted on the blog. I'd hate to have so many residents to feel as I do now and not able to trust the word of Linden Lab employees of a mistake.

Lindens: Please advise how to get back my money! The merchant sais it's my fault, because I use beta software on my own risk and I think he's right!

For the love of...
I know you enjoy the FL client that much, but I'd never, NEVER use beta software to buy a limited supply item (such as most of the Isle of Wyrms avatars).

Now I know for sure, but I never could have imagined, that any bug in a viewer could cause this. A viewer is for me just a way to view the world and the things happening, but I never thought it could change the way the world behaves....

Perhaps, but alcohol changes the way we view the real world and it also certainly changes our interaction with it.
In other words: I'm not surprised that it's changing the interaction. But then I've been reading this forum and seeing all kinds of "this interface feature doesn't work" bug threads.

If you decline the object it goes in your trash folder. if you never Never Hit accept it still ends up in your object fold from what I have seen. At least from the testing I have done. You auto accecpt in the first place if you want it or not. The only problem is if the person is in busy mode. So always check your recent folder.

Would be great, but is not done that way. Nothing in trash in this case.

If you IM Daryth Kennedy, she will check (when she has a free moment; IE, do NOT demand anything from her over something like this) and see if she does indeed have the money, and will offer to refund you or give you the product you purchased. The sign is present to STRONGLY discourage people from attempting to buy a product using the FL client, then turn around and scream at us because they lost their money and didn't get anything in return. It's abuse that we didn't ask for, don't deserve, or need, but needs to be directed back at LL so they REALLY REALLY fix this problem before it goes live.

Anyway, LL should REALLY REALLY put out a serious disclaimer with the FL client, making sure everyone realizes that it is beta software, and that they use it at their own risk.

Thank you for your hint. I checked already with an IoW Mentor which checked back with an IoW admin denying the refund. And I am okay with it, I missed the sign and didn't think of FLC could be THAT buggy. My fault, I won't complain IoW and I won't complain Linden, too, because they wrote it is beta software... At the download location. But so many FL clients worked fine so I didn't think of this possibility.

But when I heared right and this FLC goes public on Wednesday for all ppl, then there is a huge problem and not only for IoW.

You can still accept items if the dialog disappears, all you have to do is do something, such as play as a hud or pay someone $1, and then before clicking Ok, click the little arrow in the bottom right corner until the accept/deny dialog is shown. only problem is you MUST do this before logging after you bought an item else who knows where it goes
