Ratings System when uploading Images~~~!

There should be Ratings System when uploading Images into SL.

It would consist of small check boxes with codes like: G, PG, PG13, R, or X.

When uploaded, that image would be encrypted with this rating, somehow.

Finally, in your preferences you would be able to select how you would like to view the World. Be it G, PG, PG13, R, or X mode. Any image outside of your personal rating will simply appear blank.

The citizens ourselves could police this and make aware LL of anyone improperly assigning a rating code. Example: image explicit Porn as a “G” rating

*** I say all this, because it is simply an embarrassment to invite a new user into SL and have their first experience of such a wonderful world of possibilities that is SL, is the blatant pornography that could be found everywhere.

Given LL's decision that simple nudity is pornographic and not allowed even in Mature regions unless a landowner explicitly allows it, you'll have to excuse me while I laugh at the idea of them trying to define and enforce such an involved rating system.

1) The video game industry already has this rating system clearly defined.
2) Enforcing would be completely automated filter system set in your preferences.
And policing it would be just as you can vote on an object today, you could vote (report) on an image out of its Rating class. LL only need attend the ones with exceedingly high trouble tickets.

What I want to know is where these people are running into all this porn by accident in the PG sims they presumably never leave. That's already a violation of the TOS, after all. Maybe I need to go to PG sims when I want to find porn since you apparently can't help but trip over the stuff.

So you would just stick me and the millions of potential visitors to PG zones, in stead of a personalize setting on our accounts, allowing us to go and visit anywhere?

And why are opposed to someone’s own account filtering what they see?
We can mute people right? What’s wrong with muting images?

In fact such a thing may make Zones obsolete!
This filter system would in effect make every Avi its own roaming Zone, seeing only what the user wants to see in SL.

come on, even at the LL sanctioned 4th birthday party (SLB4) (9 sims of classic SL things) there was porn and no one said a word. i think that porn is so ubiqitous on the internet now that it should be hardly a surprise to see it in an 18+ environment that encourages free uploading of images BUT I totally see your point, like the porn at the SLB4 it is cheesy when you aren't looking for it and makes the place look sloppy...

I think it is an interesting idea actually... though it should probably just be pg or mature for simplicity.

But one huge problem would be what to label the bazillion images already loaded.

Yeah, you’re absolutely right and here is what I think of that.

Everyone would be able to click on select texture and add that attribute to any existing texture they have in world.

Why would someone take the time to do this? Because if they don’t SL will default it to an X rating after a certain expiration time.

I think this is more of a "feature Suggestions" topic. It should have been put into that area of the forums.

I also thought of this idea once though. It would be a great idea if you can change it at any time. SL already has gazillions of images uploaded which would not be marked yet. So being able to change the rating at any time would allow us to fix them all. This would be nice to use if you have content you don't want unverified accounts to see. Instead of showing the actual image it would give them a blank texture instead.

Yeah, I guess your right about it being in the feature Suggestions.
Anyway to move the entire thing over there?

LL could consider a Image locker that is viewable by the user for a feed.

For example, when uploading an image into SL you can select:
G, PG, Pg-13, R, X or Pay Per View
