first i have a brand new mac and the older version sl worked much better atleast the graphics were 1000 times better. 1.19.1 graphic stinks they put you at their recommend settings which is the lowest they can go. if you try to higher the quality then sl runs really slow(mac or pc). they need to fix this version soon!

I am using sl for one year now and what I just did, never happend before. I downgraded the viewer from 1.19.1.4 back to 1.19.0.5. The later not only looks nicer it also performs much better. With my notebook, an ASUS A8Js which has actually a quite powerful graphics card, I can use 1.19.0.5 with the most demanding graphics settings and the perfomance is good. With 1.19.1.4 the performance already starts to go down when I am at high (which was the recommended setting when I first did the installation). Not to speak about ultra ...
And even if I go to ultra, well, the world does not really like I used to know it. So I bought some nice lamps for our house and in 1.19.0.5 they were shining nicely and it was a real pleasure especially at night. With 1.19.1.4 they look like shit, pardon me. Even at midnight they look like they are not switched on even if I go to tell the that they should shine strong.
Ok, you might say I am not using the latst drivers for the graphics chip which might be true but ASUS does not provide an update of the driver and on the nvidia pages there is also no new driver for the chip of the notebook. And I have got a desktop too. It uses an ATI Radeon 9800 which is ok not at the top scale but still I would say a reasonable card. If you insist to ask for more then the number of people who are able to enjoy SL will be getting less. Anyway for the desktop I did download the newest graphics drivers from ATI and ok 1.19.1.4 of course works but it looks as bad as on the notebook (in ultra mode of course) and the also performance is comparable.
And this is not all to it, unfortunately. Whether it is due to the viewer update or not but the friendship tool that I use to kiss and hug my partner, does not work as it used to work anymore. Now, when I kiss my partner my avatar is bumping into my partners avatar as if I would do something really strong to her. Not nice, that is all I can say. 'And right, I cannot say for sure whether it is the 1.19.1.4 viewer causing that. All I can say that it started when I did the viewer upgrade. Now, I have to check whether it is back to normal after I made the downgrade.
Finally, today something real bad happend. I wanted to extract money from an SLexchange ATM machine. I tried to do so. The money was gone on my SLexchange account but never arrived in the balance of my avatar. Again I of course stress that it is not clear whether this is the viewer. All I can say is that it happend when I was using 1.19.1.4.
All in all, my SL experience did suffer quite a bit with this viewer upgrade and I stress that it was nice with 1.19.0.5 because before that my partner had sever problems with all kinds of things. So at least for a couple of weeks since the beginning of the year we could enjoy SL.
I just hope that you will not force us into upgrading to the 1.19.1.* version before you significantly improved it.
To be honest, one way out of all this might be to trow away the 1.19.1.* development tree and go back to 1.19.0.5. I can only say it was a really nice and stable viewer version!
