is anyone else seeing a black box around the progress bars in the RC viewer? it looks like they copy and pasted a large section of a black background on my screen... it looks really weird ... like they couldnt be bothered to finish tidying it up...

Yes, I have a feeling it's intentional. The judgement of the interface designers is bad enough that it's hard to tell the different between their decisions and a bug.
This might be an example of something wrong with still having to write interface display code by hand after 6 years of being in operation, perhaps.
