I unfortunately never got the chance to check out the Windlight FL viewer, and while I know that's been set on the back burner for now, I'm sure it'll be back at some point.
My question for anyone who got the chance to play with it, is this: to what degree will we be able to "read" the state of Windlight? What options will content creators have for creating scripted objects that interact with the weather, time of day, etc.? I know that at least some of this will be customizable or forcible from the client side only, but are there default server side parameters that can be set at the sim level and read by scripts/objects?

IIRC it was planned to allow estate owners to choose the default settings for their sim. Think that was it.
Didn't pay a huge amount of attention to WL, though, as I really like being able to build/fly in the clounds.

Fantastic... as our sim (which we pay teir for a portion) is always defaulted to midnight... does this mean I'll have to get lights installed everywhere now? lol... Never got the 'mouse moves sun/moon' feature to work... more pie in the sky?

If I understood the functioning of WL properly I think you should be able to set it up so things have a moonilight/streetlight/whatever look to them. According to Torley WindLight is still client-side only, for now.
