1.20 Serious issue....

First off, since I have a completely new top system, the client can mess up however it likes, theres hardly ever consequences. I dont crash, only on very rare occasions....
But this new viewer is completely different... I can log in, then after 2 seconds the fun is over. Rarely it will not crash and then its only a matter of time until I click a button or window...
Theres somethign seriously wrong and if this client gets out I have a real problem and the worst is, I seem to be the only one experiencing that?

When using the new client "Dazzle" I can't go anywhere populated. Currently to be able to run it I have to be in my own little box. It seems "Trees" and "Other Avatars" crash me.. Super!

I'm on a Quad Core, 2gb ram, GeForce 8600 GT and all the good stuff yet can I run dazzle? No! Lol.

Oh well, I can see Dazzle getting scrapped. If it ever makes it into the official release I am so gone!

Yes me too, till now the worst viewer i ever testet.

After just some hours with it i got the conclusion :

1. After 1 second i though ohh my eyes so bright i'm blind. After i wear my sunglasses at night so i can i can see what ugly it is. Ok someone likes it someone not ... but away from the appereance its just not as clear as the old one just bad.
2. After 20 minutes oh whats that message logging is activated by standard ok turn it off
3. After 30 minutes and a restart after a crash (nothing unnormal in SL sure) i realized that the logging options are back on ... it doesn't remember my setup.
4. After 2 hours it crashed again in a populated area after i get back in to the same area 1 minute later i turn my head to look to someone and crash logger. i reloggt in same area talked to the people that i'm back crap SL blablabla turn arround my head to move and cash logger. Back in crash logger. .. crash logger crash logger. Even a restart of the pc doesn't solve anything. I cleared the cache and still crash logger so i got to the conclusion that this viewer is useless for my system.

Now i'm back online with the standard viewer. I used RC's all the time in the past till this viewer wich kicks me back to the standard good that they integreted the windlight to it already.

yes 1.20 is useless for me also. Seems they have to do a better version than this. Crashes continusly....in about seconds...or immideatly.

I used the Windlight version all the way from when it was an early first look, right up to now as the official version. It had problems, but not as bad as Dazzle.

Instead of being labeled as "Release Candidate", which in the software world means "we think we squashed all the bugs, if nothing comes up when the users play with it it goes official", this should be labeled "Alpha", meaning "its an early draft, we know stuff is not done, here play with it and see what you find".

One of the lindens admitted they had not checked the xml files for duplications and errors because "they didn't have time".

In using this version, it behaves badly in two major ways: It has major major memory issues. I received "out of memory" Windows errors, despite having 2GB of RAM, and a 512MB video card and having nothing else running but Windows XP and antivirus (which use <300MB)

The other problem is this version corrupts settings, so you cant keep it installed alongside the official 1.19.1 version. I got tired of re-setting everything and having to re-download my inventory and cache when switching versions, so I uninstalled 1.20.

This version should NEVER have got to the public download page. Linden labs should hire a group of "alpha" and "beta" testers, people who enjoy messing with pre-release software, pay them for their time, and fucking listen to our suggestions.

The other thing we need is some moderators in the public JIRA, since we are getting garbage submissions (I cant log in), and tons of duplicates. I was surprised to find out the Windlight development team is only 5 people. No wonder they are overwhelmed. Again, pay the people something to do this job,

I had this in many diffrent SL versions over the years, still havnt got a idea what triggers it, but i will easy blame it on creatives soundcard drivers

If i start crash like whoa everytime at some land, i could go back another day 2-3 after and nothing crashed me ... AND that was with the same client version , no reinstall, no update drivers , happend in empty sims wich had litterally NO traffic or avatars when i was there or any change.

Werdly random, always suspect its the land parcel/media every time, cause i have annoying issues with that when it changes url, it can randomly crash me, and thats nearly every time if i have video stream on, change land media a few times and boom client crash , i hate Creative and their drivers

I can remember when i was near Cheetah's cloud9 old one ages ago, sometimes i couldnt go near it, boom instant crash, wait a few days oh hey it works now, for..no apperant reason, i can crash client like 'that' if i go to a place wich has alot of prims right where i enter and try to render it or whatever its trying to do, crash sometimes, but that to isnt very 'reliable' so its random to.

I had this 3 times in 1.20 dazzle thingie so far, i left that sim, came back 2 days ago to it, oh hey im not crashing now, go figure, but after that havnt crashed yet.

I crash after 1 sec too. Never had a problem with crashes before, so something's terribly messed up with the new RC client.

Maybe we should post our configs to see if there's something in common. I have a C2D CPU, 4 gb RAM, Geforce 7600 GST, and my OS is XP64. (I've yet to find someone, who's crashing after 1 sec with an ATI VGA-card, although I've only talked to about 10-15 people, they all have NVIDIA cards, like me.)

I can't say I never crash, but it will be weekend evenings if I do, so these comments of your very serious crashes are unknown to me.
Not got a super delux computer as your specifcations, do think these SL Viewers get better not worse as many feel. (OK this new colour skin takes some getting used to, and a choice or tone down is a good idea.)
I'm no computer expert but do you think the Internet its self could not be helping?
The ISP used in America and the ones we use in our location?
I ask these things as here in UK many people now getting slow down in thier connection speed at busy times and not getting the speed they pay for, one wonders if we are over loading them. I also note as I have said at weekends when over 60K of us in SL, Linden have had ISP trouble.

I near never crash too but found in one sim RC1.20 crashes me withing minutes of entering, yet I can use for hours elsewhere, I can use my normal viewer fine in the crashing sim too, tried with and alt on both viewers in that sim and got the same results
