hiya,

didn't see any posts on this yet so here it is.
First of all, I love the Windlight progress but there are some weird things going on.
1. In Windlight my estate textures seem to be different from the non Windlight viewer.
I made a mixture of rock and grass in the non Windlight viewer. In the Windlight viewer all is grass. It looks like the hightmaps are not the same.

2. The landscaping I did looks also differend. Where I made sharp edges for rocks and cliffs the edges are now way to smooth. It looks like a Teletubby landscape;-(

Anyone else want to share some experience?

I'm still building on my Asian sim Hosoi Ichiba and don't know what I should do. Build for Windlight or build for non Windlight.

Cheers,

Ami

A bug has already been reported in the last two Windlight viewers, where the transition points for the textures are being shifted downward, if Basic Shaders are on. Of course, you need Basic Shaders for all the fancy Windlight effects. But if you turn that off, you'll see your textures for terrain normally.

They will fix it. they just haven't yet. One big place where this shows is that beach textures end up below the water line, while the grass above them turns the beach into a grassy shoreline.

Haven't seen the terrain getting smoothed, but that is likely a card-specific bug.

Just for the record.. the terrain texture / graphic slider bug does not occur with all graphics card on Mac.. EG Mac Pro seems to be free of it.
