If I click on my av the camera starts moving on it's own, attempt to get below my avatar looking up.
If I alt click on an object to focus on it the camera take a journey somewhere else all on it's own.

It's probably just a bug in SL or something, but I couldn't help but notice this thread right next to your other thread about movement in the map window. Both seem to be triggered by roughly the same action: clicking and holding the mouse down (right?). Is there possibly something weird about your setup or hardware that's confusing SL? Are you using a touchpad or trackball?

same issue

I've noticed the same issue - the movement it subtle for me, but definately noticable. It is a recent thing so much be a new bug.

I was recently experimenting a lot with resolution and window size because I'm learning about machinima, and I stumbled across this problem in mouselook at certain screen resolution/client resolution settings. The "use resolution independent scale" also played a part. It might be worth toggling these settings to see if anything changes.

From: wtf Laxness I've noticed the same issue - the movement it subtle for me, but definately noticable. It is a recent thing so much be a new bug. From: Lex The effect is not at all subtle for me, it's quite rapid and pronounced. I am using a normal MS mouse. I do use the keyboard and mouse sharing program Synergy, so it's not a perfectly normal setup. However, I have been using Synergy for at least a year now, without any problem in using SL or any other program, and I haven't just installed a new version of Synergy. When I started having this problem I had the screen settings the same as I always do in SL, at the desktop resolution of 1024 by 768 and running windowed. I fiddled around with the UI size stuff last night and continued to have the problem at different settings. I set these settings back to normal, desktop resolution, UI size of 1, resolution independent, and now it appears to be working properly again. Thanks for the suggestions.

_I_ use Synergy, so I can attest that that's not the problem

Solution

It's in known issues under UI size when setting UI size to other than 1. Solution, Preferences/Graphics/set UI size to 1.

Thanks for the response.
The initial post was made on 01-26-2007 - the problem was solved long ago, and the First Look viewer has been upgraded many times since the post was made.

The resolution independant scale has caused all kinds of problems for me. I disabled it from the start.
