Has anyone played around with resizing the Viewer, trying different aspect ratios, and seeing if it has any effect on FPS?
I'm trying it in Windlight but resizing the Viewer seems to often cause it to crash, so I haven't learned much yet (I'm going to submit a bug report).
I did this a lot in the Main Viewer and actually got counter-intuitive results that I don't understand.
At 1050x850 image size ("standard" size for me) I get my "standard" framerate. Then I make the Viewer really tall & narrow, like 400x850. My FPS goes up. Ok, that makes sense. Because your vertical angle of view doesn't change much, but you lose a LOT on the left/right, so it makes sense that with far fewer objects in view, your FPS goes up.
But then I make it really wide & squat, like 1200x450, and my FPS goes up even MORE! WTF? My vertical angle of view has changed only slightly, but I see a LOT more left/right, like a wide angle lens, and with so much more in view, I'd expect my FPS to go down!
