I'm decorating a bedroom and want it to be luxurious and especially to have soft wall coverings like satin drapes - i have tried many many textures that just look flat and also found free drapes that unfortunately move in ripples and would become irritating i think - anyone found/makes nice quality drapes that would look luxurious? thx!

Most of the drapes I seen all look the same so I decided to try to either figure out way to do it myself or with help from friends who can do transparent images since I haven't been able to tackle it.
Their is some common solid colored drapes that are transparent if you search for drapes, curtains, textures in search engine you should find them but they all look the same.
Best sollution would be to make them yourself or find a friend who can.

This may sound a little weird, but for a floor-to-ceiling kind of curtain, some dark hair textures blown up big give a good effect. They look all ripply, like the folds of the curtain.

The annoying rippliness you mention is probably flexi. You can turn that off entirely or change the amount. It is a build property of the prim that the drapery texture is on.

I have also seen, out on the web, tutorials for making a cloth texture look like it has folds. You could *draw* nice curtains, and then put that on a flat prim. Or jst take a picture of nice curtains (not the fabric, the curtains) and use that.

Lastly, you might be able to make a nice sculpty set of drapes...

Best drapes I've seen are at Relic (Sanctum Sanctorum) and Gypsy Moon.

Another vote for Relic in Sanctum Sanctorum, especially if you want a satin look. I have two of them, tinted deep burgundy, in my living room.
