Is there a way to give things to other residents, like things in your inventory that you would like to pass on? there MUST be a way...I have seen gift shops. Please let me know...I want to give something to my sl lover!  Bren |

Yes ... IF you have transfer permissions for it. If it is no-transfer, then you can't.
Many merchants who sell no-transfer items can arrange for you to buy an item as a gift if you contact them. But for things you already own, just depends on what the permissions are set to.
To do the actual giving, either open the recipient's profile and drag the item from your inventory onto the space labeled "drop inventory item here." Or if the person is with you, drag it onto the avatar.

Hi Brent! Yup there's definitely a way to give stuff to people. If an item is in your inventory, it will either be 'transferable' meaning you can give it to someone, or 'non-transferable.' If it's NON transferable, it will read in your inventory as being such, i.e. * Gilded Rose (no transfer) That means you can't give it to someone else. If you don't see the '(no transfer)' after an item listing, simply drag the item from your inventory to the avatar of choice, if she's in the area. If she's not in the area, or is offline, you can pull up her profile, and drag the item into the narrow field below her picture that says something like "give item to this avatar" or whatever (I'm offline right now.) If she is online, she will be prompted to accept or decline your item. If she's offline, YOU will receive a notification that she is offline, and that the item will be stored temporarily in her inventory until she has a chance to log in and accept or decline it.
