Hi Folks  I've been having problems with SL all day. First, the world was so slow loading that everything was grey for the longest time and some things never did load. Did a reboot and that seemed to clear up but then the lag was horrific and I couldn't move but one frame at a time. It seemed to get better for a bit then out of the blue, the viewer keeps crashing. If I cam in or out or try to turn around, it crashes. I'll reboot, come back and it's okay for a while, then starts crashing again. A friend thinks it might be my video card going bad? I tend to think it's the game but when I uninstalled SL and went to a previous version, the problem remains. Any suggestions? |

Make sure you are using the latest stable versions of your motherboard and video card drivers. If that doesn't work, come talk more to us

The last few versions have been a little more unstable the usual. Partially due to the memory leaks and partially, I believe, with a slight issue with ATI graphics card.
Not aware of a solution other than patience which is the angle I'm taking ( I crash annoyingly too ).

I don't think it's on my side as I went and played Guild Wars without any trouble at all. I'll try and wait it out. |

I am suddnely crashing now more than ever. It's always when I'm building and always just when I right click an object to edit - nothing happens for about 30 seconds then SL shuts down quickly - a lot faster than logging out. This is very peculiar to me. Wish it would shut down that fast when I WANT it to shut down!
But no harm done I just log back in to the same spot and let people see me bald for a few seconds and then go back to building. -- KC

KC, did you update to the newest viewer? I know the first optional had that 'bug' as the reason a second was released so very quickly.

Good luck...at this point, my game completely freezes my puter after I've been in world maybe 15, 20 mins max. I have to shut the whole thing down. To add to the fun, this last time, it not only froze the computer and shut it down but I got a nice, loud, siren warning (sounded like a freakin ambulance) the likes of which I have never heard from the system. Latest drivers, latest viewers.. I think SL is killing my system. I have nada, and I mean nana, system crashes, lag, siren noises, etc when playing ANY other game or using ANY other program.
