best way to sell half the group land?

i recently doubled my land size when my boyfriend joined SL, i gave him the L$ to buy 512 and i bought the other 512, the land was grouped and joined together, i thought i would have the land for about 3 months and then sell and move, but we have split up in RL one reason is because of his SL sex with 'tiny whores'.

now he wants to sell his half of the land...even though he never paid for it!
i cannot afford to increase my membership to the next tier but i have a friend who i would like to buy the other half of land, we have agreed a small price, but i dont know how to do it...should i buy my boyfriends land from him and then sell to my friend? or would that make my membership jump to the next tier?

ideally i would like to sell all the land and move to where my RL boyfriend can no longer take his tiny tarts and get his rocks off on my poseballs (my land has a house for rental which is set up with poseballs) but, if i sell all the land...he will automatically get half the price of it and well...i dont want to give him that! lol

so can anyone tell me how i should do this?

also do these people who give virtual sex realise what part it actually plays in the real world? how much damage it does to peoples relationships?? fantasy or not...it is still REAL people behind these avies...and real people get hurt!
i would have rather come in from work to find him screwing the neighbour than find out he is virtually screwing complete strangers

pssst... when he isn't online so he can't see it, sell the group land to yourself for L$1. This will transfer the entire thing to your account. Make sure to set your land tier donation to the group to 0 just before doing this.

Don't give him anything

There's a new option in the land sale window that removes your group tier contribution when you sell group land back to yourself. Good addition.

Split the land into 2 sections, let him sell his half, you sell your half.

EDIT: If you bought all the land yourself, just kick him out of the group. Get your friend to join the group and donate the tier that you lost.

To keep your tier from going up though, you have to do it differently. Get your friend in game, make a group with the two of you in it. Take your land donation to the group the land is currently on to 0 and set all of it to the new group with your friend. Then set the land for sale for 0L to YOURSELF (plz be careful with tht part, do not set it to anyone, though I dont think you can at 0L, be sure to set it to yourself). Put on your group tag for the *new* group, make sure the tier from you and your friend is in the group, go to About Land and purchase the land for the group. This will 1) give him nothing of the sale (dealing with giving him anything is between the two of you that you need to figure out) and 2) not increase your land tier for the month. If I missed a step someone plz pop in and fill in the spaces. I need a nap already

if you buy your bf's land then you will need to increase your tier. If you are an officer in the group then you could kick you bf out of the group to stop him getting money from the land sale but if he has donated his 512sqm to the group then you would end up having to tier up anyway once his donated 512sqm was removed.

Here is what I would do. If the person who wants to buy the land has the tier available then add them to the group. Have them donate 512sqm to the group. Kick your bf out of the group. subdivide the land into 2 and have your friend purchase the land. Then they can take their 512sqm donation out of the group and they can leave the group. You'll be left with a 512sqm plot which you can have free on the premium account

Am sure there are simpler ways but i like the plan where you can kick your BF out of the group and stop him getting any money

sounds like you have a few issues going on here.

The land is grouped land? Are Both you and youe Ex BF "owners" of that group?

If your the group owner and hes not an owner - Kick him from the group and sell the land.

If its shared sell the land to yourself for 1L , then sell the land.

You might run into teir problems doing this. $5 more for the month you hold 1024 Meters.

To avoid teir problems - Sell the land first than kick him right away youll need to sell cheap so it sells right away. Hell need to be kicked before the next day. So basically as soon as possible after the land sells.

This is becuase when a group sells something the money isnt split till the next day. Thus if hes kicked - youll get the money.

If you have to sell it to yourself becuase hes an owner - you cant avoid the $5 charge, sorry.

If you plan on using a 1024 parcel from no one though - then its no prolem simply sell the land to yourself teir up - and then Ban him. You dont even have to sell your land.


On your other topic -

The RL efects of SL relationships is a serious damaging issue for some - a welcome distractions to others, theres a recent thread on it though "SL Dating' its probably not more than a page back if youd liek to read it.

I sympathize for you. I had something similar happen to me with my real life HUSBAND. NOT FUN.

If it's group owned land you should be able to split it and sell the other half, regardless of him as long as you have those permissions within the group.

Also, something to think about: the $5 extra it will take to buy the land and turn around and sell it to your friend will only be charged to you until you downgrade your account. If you sell the land right after buying it and immediately downgrade your account, I believe the most you will be charged for that new tier level will be $10 in all. It may even only be 5, but I seem to remember when I had mainland land that you got charged one more time after downgrading.

This is easy. Have your friend pay you the negotiated amount. Sell the land to your friend for 1L, and then sell the rest of your land to yourself for 1L.

I'd kick his happy behind out of the group, ban him, and keep the property. If and when he pays you back for the property (The orginal price) Then sell the property and split 50/50 that way the Dead Beat can't say you cheated him. You should be glad this man is out of your life in both universes and next time in picking a male companion BE PICKY! There are some great men out there. Never settle!!!

thanks everyone...some good tips there...ill get it sorted and get him booted from my land...before he left i demoted him to officer and changed all the settings so that he cant do anything lol

as to 'tiny whore' this is all that is written on her 2nd life part of her profile...i have never met this avie...i have only read her sex conversation...which after reading it...to be honest i think she should reasses her life and maybe see a shrink!

it is just a shame that avies cant die because there are a few who are on my hit list! i guess ill just have to make do with the watermelon launcher!
