Group Deeded Land & Changing It

I currently have my land set to one group, the one I intend to be the public group. I should have had more foresight into the matter, but hind sight is 20/20. Now I need to set the land to a private group to still allow my guest to join the original group without giving them build rights since so many seem to be litter bugs. I have a very complex build and I'm terrified to "sell" myself the land to buy it for the new group - will my items get returned to me?

Your items won't necessarily be returned to you, but as a sanity check, go into your land options and make sure auto return is set to 0 (that's a numeral zero).

Where you REALLY need to be careful is in the process of selling the land back to yourself. DO NOT click hastily. Set the land for sale to yourself, not to "anyone". Click slowly, read each dialog CAREFULLY. If you are unsure about any of this, I'm sure one of the forum regulars can join you in world and assist you. Too many people are losing their land to landbots due to errors.. I'd hate for this to happen to you. One of the stickies in this forum has detailed instructions.. would suggest you check that out.. yellow titled threads at the top of page 1 of the forum.

I wasn't worried about the selling it part, but I wanted to double check on the objects.

I just did it and everything went fine! Yay!

It is also possible to assign different group members different "roles," which allow some (such as you) the right to build, but not others.
