Are all Groups Searchable?

Do all groups automatically show up in search or can they be private? Also, if someone looks at your profile and looks at a group name there, can the list of other members in the group be hidden?

They can also be private. There is a checkbox for that in the group settings.

Yes, except the owner(s). There is a checkbox for that.
