ao and chat "typing"

i have a 3 different ao sets and have noticed that when i am typing in chat 2 of them do not show the typing animation and 1 does.

is this something controlled by the "standing" animations in the ao? or is there a separate animation that controls that?

i like the idea of the typing animation coz it shows the other avies that i am "speaking" ... or rather "about to speak".

thanks in advance.

If the person who made the ao used too high a priority when uploading the stand animations, the typing won't show.

My AO from Abraminations is very high priority - therefore it doesn't naturally show my typing animation. I had to add a typing animation on top of the AO to show others I was responding. The downsides to this are many: sometimes the typing won't show in non-scripted areas; I have to constantly remove the typing attachment if I am on a poseball or stand where I should not be showing typing; on really bad laggy days, if I go to reattach my typing animation "thingy" it shows up as a little box near my left hip.

Hence why I am still on the prowl for something lower priority but with smooth transitions from one stand to the next.

No luck so far.

Scripted attachments are being hit by powerful weapons (griefing weapons really) causing them all to malfunction. If your expensive weaponary/defense system is copiable i would very strongly suggest making a copy and keeping it in a separate folder in your inventory for safe keeps so that if your attachments are hit by these griefing weapons then you have a perfect working copy in your inventory to use.

NB: if you have to use the copy, make sure you copy the copy when the time comes :-)

I used to have some really high priority animated stands and whenever I got into a conversation with a stranger they would just walk away as I was typing in my answer. They didn't have the visual cue that I was answering them. It was pretty frustrating. I just use walk animations in my ao now.

I look closely- a lot of the time the avatar's head will waver slightly along with the suppressed typing anim, which is still a nice way of seeing someone formulating their thoughts.

Also, a good avatar radar will display who nearby is typing.
