Hi all,

I have seen many post and instruction cards that say link this object to that, or unlink this adjust it then link it again. I do not know how to link one object to another and would greatly appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks.

Hi there,

Welcome to SL.. Click edit on the object that u want to link. hold the shift key down and click on all other objects that u want to link. Go to your tools menu up at the top and click on link. Hope that helps..

Visit the Ivory Tower

Rather than posting a specific answer here (which may well leave you in a situation where you get part way into things and discover there's something else you need to know to proceed), I recommend that you pay a visit the Ivory Tower (Library of Primitives), where you'll find the answer to your question, and a lot more besides:

When there until things rez, then look for the green translucent signs that say 'Start Here'. Start there :)

Good luck, and have fun :)

I second, third and fourth the recommendation to visit the Ivory Tower. If you're at all interested in building things, it's the best resource that I've found. I still can't build for a damn because of a total lack of artistic skill, but I do know how to do skewing and linking and all sorts of other things that usually result in a pretty ugly object (at my noob skill level).
