Locking "Pieces" of the House

Shouldn't you somehow "lock" each construction piece of the house so that when you are decorating that you don't accidently "move" a wall?

I just took a wall out trying to change the color of the carpet-after two days of bulldozing (I'm new)& spending one whole day trying to piece the house into correct position due to a basement; I don;t want this to accidently happen again!

We saved the house from the rezz box & haved now taken box up. But in the process of me starting to decorate again I felt the need to go through the entire house & lock every floor wall window etc.

Is there an easier way to "lock down" all the building materials of the house all at once-(not talking about locking the door).

Thanks in advance if I could get an answer ASAP i"ld appreciate it. Aslo can you "copy" some color you see on something-if you want carpet the same as in another room?

Right click on them and choose Edit. Click on the "More >>" button if you see it. Then click on the "Object" tab and turn on the "Locked" checkbox.

It kind of sounds like the pieces of the house aren't linked. If the prims making up the structure are not linked, you will have to go through and lock every single one of them.

Much easier would be to link the ones you can, and then you can lock them as a single item. You probably won't be able to link the entire house... you say it was in a rezzer, which is generally used when a house is too big to be fully linked. Still, you can link several groups of close prims.

Don't feel too bad about deleting the wall... I deleted two houses in the last month!

/me slaps forehead and mutters "forgot to lock the prims!"

Every time you unlink a house into individual prims, another kitten gets drowned in a burlap sack.

Please think of the kittens!

Practice makes perfect, though :)

Oh Jeez, I've lost count over how many times I've done that. This is how I'm slowly learning building skills.

Can't you also, in the land edit mode, draw a box around the entire house and lock it that way?
