Hello. I actually have a few questions. I noticed lately that my Library has quite a few more things in it than it used to. It would appear that freebie shapes and hair among other things have secretly been added to the libraries. I want to know why these new things have been added to existing accounts. I don't understand why I cannot delete anything in the Library. All I really want to keep are the textures. If I understood what a Linden told me correctly, items in the Library cannot be deleted and count towards an avatar's total inventory count. I think all new accounts start out with around 800 things in their inventory. Most of which I believe are in the Library. What can I do about all this stuff? Should I request a new delete feature for the Library in the Feature Suggestions forum?  |

did you empty your trash?
Also, when you Open a BOX of stuff, (say a new box of freebies), folks often use the "copy to inventory' button. This copies FROM the box into a folder in Inventory. Snag the few things you want and delete the rest of the folder...You should still have the original BOX of freebies in your inventory.
I've been in SL for 10 months. I"m at 9000 items. I found out early on that keepign the Inventory sorted is critical to mental survival. Make a set of folders in your inventory that make sense to you and start sorting...
Also, there are some tips to using inventory, such as the filters, opening a second window, and using the text input to select by matching on name.

Oh, I was talking about the Library folder. It is beneath the Inventory folders. To my knowledge the things in the Library count towards your total inventory count. I just cleaned out most of my inventory. From 14000 to 6500. lol |

I just cleaned out most of my inventory. From 14000 to 6500. lol There is a way to keep the Library folder from loading if it concerns you, and it probably shouldn't from what I've read here. There is a switch you can add to your shortcut which will prevent it from loading. I not up to holding your hand with this, but all you need do is add the switch to your shortcut. The switch is: "-noinvlib" (without quotes, appended to your shortcut). HTH |
