Hello everyone,

Just wondering if there's any culling done to the prims in HUDS? Say, if I had a lot of objects and moved them to a certain area would they be dropped from what's being sent to render?

I'm asking because I want to use a dynamic HUD in my current project. So I guess, while I'm here, I should ask if anyone's heard of any open systems for it that have been done. If there's a standard that works out there already I may as well integrate with that since I think it's a good idea in general.

Hi there,

I'm also very interested in this. A great example can be found at "The L Word Toolbar" found at the "The L Word Orientation 1 (132, 101, 27)".

Any thoughts would be very very appreciated!

It's not perfect, and I haven't established how it works yet, but I'm happy to report that there is some culling in place for HUD rendering.
