Linking and unlinking objects

Hi everyone, I have just started building a house and I have so many prims! I wanted to know, if there is a major adjustment that you need to do, if you unlink everything, is there a way that you can link everything back together in one go? Or, do you have to link each single object one by one by highlighting each one individually? This is a major obstacle if you have a lot of prims. Thanks for any assistance. Andrew

Andrew - if you have your house all linked together and need to edit .. lets say one wall ... you don't have to unlink everything to do so. in the edit window (top portion) you should see a check box labeled "edit linked parts". click on the check box and then whichever linked prim you click on you can edit/move. you can also use this to unlink only one linked prim, as in if lets say you wanted to delete that wall but it was linked ... follow the same procedures as before but this time go to your tools window and select unlink.

I'm not a builder, per say.....but when I did do my first studio myself I solved the linking dilemma by linking as I went......
anotherwords.....I got one section lined up, and linked it.......then, another section....linked that.....and then I did the roof....linked the roof elements. Once I was happy with the way each 'section' fit together......I simply linked the sections. So....in essence you don't have to link every single prim one by one....you create sections of linked prims......then link the sections.

And, as someone stated already....to edit.....or remove a linked prim.....you need only 'edit linked parts' and select that one piece to either change or unlink. ;)
