When selling land, how does it get to be shown with a L$ sign on the map?

Hallo all,

I hope this isnt a silly question, but I have just set my three parcels of land for sale and they appear in the Land Sales tab in Search, but when I look on the map, they do not show up like other places that are for sale. These other places for sale show up as yellow squares (I think according to the size of the parcel) and have a L$ sign over them, then when you click on the L$ sign a brief detail of the parcel appears. My parcels dont show up like this at all, so could someone please tell me how I get that added to the map?

Many thanks.

for sure but they only update the map at certian times i think its once a day so it may take upto 24 hours for it to show up on the map for sale at least i have seen a lot of land for sale and not showing on the map

I recently put some land on the market and it took 24 hours for the map update to catch it. I bet yours will show up eventually too.

Good Luck with the sale.

I wondered about this as well.

The issue is - why do some yellow plots have a clickable $ icon them , and others not?
It's not the parcel size, as I've see both 16m and half-sim plots with and without the icon.

I wish every plot on the map had the feature. It's a pain to TP to an interesting location via the map and find that the land has a 'joke' price of a million or so. The plot is not seriously for sale, so time is wasted.
When the icon is there, the map shows area and price. This saves a heap of TPing.

So:
- what the OP asked....... the $ icon

Anyone?

Heh, Joke? Hardly. A few weeks after I bought my 1st land lot, and built it up to 2048, I, on a whim, decided to set my land for sale even though I didnt want to sell.. I set it to an outragously high amount (60,000 L's, when the going rate at the time was about 20k). It sold the next day. The reason people set land prices like that is because they are not really looking to sell, but if one wanted it that bad, they'd pay the price. Dont think it's worth doing? Mine sold the next day. I recomened a friend do the same thing when he noticed someone snatching up all the lots in a sim once.. He got 250,000 L's for about 3000 sq meters.... He took his windfall and opened a large casino, and is pulling in $150 usd a week and he's not even advertising it yet...

Something to consider.

I *think* it only shows for plots which have a TP Location set (in the About Land 'Options' tab IIRC).

I may be wrong on this, but I remember wondering the same thing myself some time back when I was selling land, and that was the thing that seemed to fix it.

hi honeysuckle

you need to get yourself a yellow snake avatar and then lay partly curled up on your parcels for about 4 days. :D
