Is it just me, or...?

For several days now I have been unable to load notecards or scripts into objects. Can't modify them either, get a message about the server is whimpering in pain! This in both First Look and Standard Client.

Two questions:

Is it just me, am I being unlucky and catching the servers in a moment of crisis? Or is this the the normal LL 'We seem to be having a problem, sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience. Have a nice day (not)' crap?

Secondly, has anybody found a workaround? Because my attempts thus far have resulted in notecard givers with blank notecards and scriptless objects.
