Hey I dunno if I should post this here and you guys probly read this plenny of times already. I've read the instructions on limits and what not but I'm still confused so I'd be really happy if anyone could answer questions. In real life I cant work cause I'm sick and even if my husband works 40hours we barelly have enough money for food every month. I was told we could get real money from SL so in november I decided to try. I worked really hard and I made great friends who have helped me greatly and I now have 3 stores. So I decided to look into making my lindens into money but it says that my limit for trading lindens to real money is 0$ wich basically mean I cant get any real money. I tried asking my friends but they didnt remember having the same issues but unlike me they had bought lindens several times before starting to sell them. Now reading the instructions and details on trading limits it sounds like I would first need to buy lindens a few times and give it some time until my limits would increase to finally allow me to make my lindens into real money. The only other option it seems would be getting my account reviewed if that would work at all.
So my question is this, for me to raise my limit and get real money from lindens do I first need to spend real money buying lindens I dont need? If so how much and how many times and how much wait? or Would getting my account reviewed explaning how I cant afford spending real money also have chances of working?

1 usd worth of L$ should be enough to start the clock, after 8 days you can start selling L$ for usd, the first month the limit is 300 usd, after that you move to level 1 and can sell 2500 usd per month but unless you have build a large corperation in SL it is unlikely you make that much even with 3 stores.

From: awayuki Marenwolf what's that suposed to mean? It means your RL situation scares me. I wish things were better for you. Good luck earning Lindens, it takes some time and skill but it can be done.

awayuki: If you joined in November and you are ready to start cashing out before the end of January, you are doing incredibly well. Keep it up! I wanted to have a look at your stuff, so I looked at your profile. You state the name of your store, but you don't have a Pick to it. You need a Pick in your profile to each of your stores so that people can get to them from there. I searched on the store's name in the Places tab and in the All tab but it wasn't listed so I couldn't get to any of the stores from the search results. The All search did produce a couple of people who have one of your stores in their Picks and I should have been able to get to it from there, but the link is broken (an LL error - not yours). I could probably get the profile of one of those people up in-world and get to your store from the Picks, but it's a heck of a long route What I'm saying is, your stores cannot be found in search, and not even in your own profile Picks.

Oh my thanks for telling me, I'll put it in picks right now, the reason you cant find it in search is cause each store is on a friend's land so the land doesnt belong to me but they are still great for giving me some space for a store especially since I cant really afford renting right now.

If your friend could go an extra mile and cut a parcel for one of the stores, you could promote it in search - it costs 30L/week to be listed in search, and I think the minimum parcel size for search is around 192sqm but it may be 256sqm.

awayuki, others will correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand the term "lolita" is restricted to adult rated regions, and may cause you problems if you use it in relation to places on mature rated mainland.

I hadn't noticed that word, Pete. As far as I know, it's ok to use it as long as it isn't going to be shown in search.

You're far more likely to be right than I am on this, Phil. I'd just hate to see what looks like some genuine hard work get trashed over something like that.

lolita would be an issue? but my clothes arent indecent I dont see why it would cause issues I mean lolita is clothing style that is inspired from doll clothings, some are a little on the boderline side yes but a lot I would be very happy to wear as normal clothes in real life if I had to money to buy em

I think Phil's correction is correct: it'd only be an issue in search. And the "naughty word" list filter for that is automated - context doesn't get considered.

Some of the people at LL are not known as the brightest sparks in the fire and "lolita" may well be on the "adult" words list. LL don't publish the list, of course - it is LL after all. One of the forum users does publish a list, which he compiles by doing tests, but I don't know where it is.

The list at http://slapt.me/wiki/index.php?title=Adult_Content_Keywords doesn't appear to include the word "lolita" at all, though it says that its abbreviation is banned even from adult search. My apologies, awayuki, I appear to have alarmed you unnecessarily. (The road to hell is paved with good intentions.)

I can only hope that someone got LL to understand that lolita and lolicon are fastly different animals.
I got some lolita dresses myself, just love the cuteness.

awayuki:
Having seen your stuff and now knowing how much you want to cash out, and considering that you only started in SL in November, you have done *extremely* well - very impressive - and I strongly recommend that you keep at it and expand bit by bit.
When I started in the furniture business, I set my store up in a small parcel (1024). (I did have the advantage of having an 8k piece of spare land.) I kept on making things, and kept pushing the walls back to display them. More and more people bought my stuff and the whole thing kept on growing, to the extent of my store becoming a decent RL livelihood.
Many people say that it's too late to make decent money from SL, but it's not, so I do encourage you to keep at it. You could stick to what have now, and call that it, but you do have the potential to grow.
