Hi,
I want to take a picture of myself for my profile.
How do I make my eyes look straight ahead? The love to follow the cursor and if I put the cursor on my face they usually roll up into the back of my head.
Is there a default way to smile? With a game as fun as SL, you'd think there would be, but heck if I can find a "smile" animation.
Any leads on where I can get a smile?
Any more hints on taking pictures of yourself?

From: Tad McConachie Hi, I want to take a picture of myself for my profile. Woo hoo! How do I make my eyes look straight ahead? You can buy a pose with locked eyes, but an alternative is that you must find the center point between the cam and the eyes, not the eyes themselves. Up close pics, I usually have the cursor on my nose. Far away the cursor is usually around my um... nether regions. Is there a default way to smile? Do a search in your inventory for smile. There should be a default gesture or animation in your library that has smile in it. Mine did and I assume they still continue to give out the LL generic anims.Any more hints on taking pictures of yourself? Nothing more than again saying, trying to find a pose that sets your eyes, there are some that do and some that don't so try out demo's if possible. Hope this helps!

Alt-Cntrl-left click on your face.

That doesn't focus your eyes on 'you' so to speak all the time though. That's just focusing the cam on the face.

Just after taking the photo avatars like us do a picture taking gesture that includes a smile - sometimes it's possible tocapture that in the next shot but it's a bit hit and miss

I find it so incredibly odd that we're not given a default smile animation!!
We're not all angsty 20-something goth kids!

You have lots of gestures and anims(including a smile) supplied by LL but you need to activate them and change them if you wish. I set a lot to go off when I type a word - say "there" - I point, 'bad" - I waggle my finger, and so forth.
