Circles... or not.

Why are things that are supposed to be circles... not?

I've noticed it mostly with Stargates, but with pretty much anything I see or make that is supposed to be a perfect circle, it instead looks like and octagon.. or whatever.

Just wondering if it was a worldwide problem... or just mine for some reason.

I had this same issue for the first week in SL.. then I found the Preferences.

Somewhere along the install process, the secondlife client has determined (probably erroneously) that your system will handle better at a lower graphics setting.

On the "Preferences" window (in the Edit Menu at the bottom) go to the "Graphics Detail" tab.. and push those sliders and buttons around until the performace balances out with the level of mesh detail and such that you desire.

What really ticked me off, was having to remake everything I'd built in low detail.

That, and now you'll join the rest of us in ouur frustration at NOT being able to have Hexagonal and Octagonal prims!

Heh, I may have changed that setting myself actually now that you mention it... I just didn't think it would change big circles so dramatically. Thanks for the help...
