Is it possible to expand your presence in SL by opening a second shop with the same name in a different location? I'm interested in opening up a second shop for my artwork, and was curious if it's possible to do it with the same name or, if that would somehow confuse the system for TP's sales, etc

thanks

You certainly can. Most open XYZ's Main Store....XYZ's at such and such.....XYZ's at Where ever....

Gamer Shots

Gamer Shots Bella

Gamer shots..wherever..

like that?

Several people do. Others just use their regular store name for all their outlets, and then would names their main store "Gamer Shots Main Store".

You don't even need to do that. You could open as many shops as you want, you could then set classifieds for each and the tp location can be set for each site. You could list it under 'places' and each store will appear seperately and you can create landmarks for each site. Teleports and ads are all tied into a position on the map which makes each store unique in that respect, so set up as many shops as you want using your existing business name.

As a customer, I prefer it when the region name is included, or else there's some other distinction. Otherwise, it can get confusing as to where you're going. That's especially true if the stores have different layouts, and you're used to the things you want being in a particular place in the store. It's also true if you start to associate stores or other places that are near each other, and wind up at a different outlet that isn't adjacent to anything you expect.
