Getting rather tired of "Attempt to rez an object failed"

About 50% of the time, I go to rez an object, I get this error..and eventually, when I clear cache and relog, the item is gone. This whole week has been Hell. This really sucks for no copy items. There was a poll debating the merits of No Copy permissions vs. No Transfer permission. I think this whole week has proven that SL's database servers are not reliable enough to even warrant having anything set as No Copy. Thank God they aren't in charge of actual banking or national defenses...we'd see our balances change sporatically for no reason, or have a false alarm on a nuclear strike.

My question is, though, are merchants now seeing the light of all this? I know there are some out there that still sell no copy items. Are they being hit with customer service questions relating to the SL database server problems such as replacing a lot of items? And, if so, how has this impacted thier business? Do most merchants just take it all in stride as acceptable risk and overhead, or does it all grate on thier nerves because it's part of thier income? Also, how much of an overhead is calculated for only SL's database issues?...10%..15%...50% of total business conducted?

You thoughts, please.

Some items are difficult for merchents to allow copy on.. Furniture is one such item.. I sell a couch to someone that furnishes a lot of rental property with copy permission set and he fills 100 units with one purchase.. Or even a regular homeowner, I sell him on patio lounger and he puts down 6 of them with only one purchase.. And then what about those items that need to be able to be transfered? Things like scripted collars? So they are no copy but transfer.. There is a reason for the copy permission.. The answer here is not to do away with the no-copy option, or to blame the creators... The answer here is to fix the problem! This has been going on for months now.. Everytime the grid is stressed people lose inventory on rez... This is unaccepable from a data server..

I just lost two items; only L$75 each but the principle is the same.

Failed to rez... clear cache, relog, gone.

When will LL address this? I won't buy or even try to rez an object until they do. LL is failing to respond. It just may fail altogether at this rate.

I just lost an 850L outfit when I tried to take box out to unpack it and got that attempt to rez object failed. Then when I relogged it was gone from my inventory. SL your doing such a great job.. really! *end of sarcasm*

i got the message twice over the weekend moved those items into a folder tried again today and they rezed fine

its a very tough decision...i still prefer my clothes as copy/transfer when i get tired of it i want to be able to give it away or sell it

and yes i also like things mod/tran because i run a resale shop if things turn to only copy/mod ill go out of business

i hope things get to working better for all of us
