There's any way to identify who's generating (owner) particles? Since you cannot select em, it would be usefull to read the owner on debug info (like the coordinates, speed that you may read right now) in case of particle spam/flood. The only way i found is to look for it activating (in visualization) the particle sources... no other methos as far as you know?
Thanks.

Try View/Beacons/Particle sources . it may help you track down the emitter or even the owner if it is attached.

I think the OP was aware of that... and while it can help for single-emitter, low-volume particle sources, it's not really all that useful in detecting the source(s) of organized/deliberate/multiple-party particle griefing (this from personal experience).

My understanding is that some of the LL devs are working this issue (particle spam source/owner detection), but don't hold me to that. :) In the meantime, viewing the particle-source beacons is all we have available, AFAIK.

Hang in there :)

There is an option, it has worked few times for me and people who needed help.

CTRL+ALT+T = Shows transparency. You will see loads of things in RED, everything in red has some transparency, or can be fully transparent, or when a prim has the opacity setting higher than 0.

Right click on the particle(s), it can be tricky if you don't know how to use the camera control and zoom, but it works.

The most important keys are:
ALT, ALT+CTRL and ALT+CTRL+SHIFT, toggle between these and you can position your camera/view anywhere you want... Right click somewhere inside the particles until you see a yellow box/prim(s) and delete. Hit ESC at anytime to go back to the "standard" position, with the avatar showing his back. When you use these commands, they work with mouse click as well as with the Arrows, up/down, left/right, you can also click on your avatar to see you face and get greater control + precision to position hair, attachments, etc...

Forgot to mention, obviously, when you right click edit on those yellow box(es)/Prim(s),
you can get all the info you want, important: sometimes you need to right click twice on the same object(s) to be able to see the info.

@Tengu: that's what i've used.. but it was very hard to track the offender, since there were many other avs with "authorized" emitters... in the end i had to track everyone, and then i found it because of the audio emitter, u know there mario things has the audio too.. then i finally found the single avatar... but it took time, and i had to surf alot with the view.

@Gina: i don't think you may select a particle with the method you said.. you may select a duplicate object (phisical) but not a floating texture... your method (enable invisible / mouse selecting) is the first thing i've tried to do, and it didn't worked.. ofcoz.
