If my my credit card is charged instantly when I become a premium member, why can't I get the $Ls for becoming a premium member instantly?
I know it's not going to happen, I still haven't got the 250 for giving up my CC info with the basic. Would have been very helpful to have when I first created the account.

I'm also reading over the SLexchange, and too confused to know what to ask on it, are there ;in SL, financial councilors to explain this?

I'm gong to try to limit my questions to one thread, easier to keep up with ;)

If you feel you didn't get your Linden dollar bonus for registering and paying for your account you should submit a support ticket using the Support Portal (click the Support Link on the website). [Your question needs to be answered by a Linden]

If you are unsure or confused about the help documentation at slexchange.com you should submit your questions to them. [Your question needs to be answered by a staff member of slexchange.com]

See... this is the Resident Answers forum: We don't work for Linden Lab (the creators of Second Life) nor do we work for slexchange.com

SLexchange is a third-party site - try submitting questions about it to directly to the SLexchange people as I think they will probably answer.

The Linden Lab exchange is Lindex - there are people on this forum who can probably answer general Lindex questions on how it works and so forth.

When going premium there should be a way to add lindens directly to the purchase - maybe in a few set amounts like 10000L, 25000L, 50000L.

I guess it would just complicate things, though.

The first question was rhetorical. And the second was directed at residents.

I love this submit a ticket thing, in all the time I have been on line I have never seen it make any difference at any site, so I'm am in no big hurry to waist my time trying here. I could very well be wrong, but.....

The new way is that new premiums/new residents won't get their sign-up/verification bonus until 45 days after they become premium/verified.

"The new way is that new premiums/new residents won't get their sign-up/verification bonus until 45 days after they become premium/verified." one way to hang on to those Lindens ;)
If you are gone with in that time frame they keep them. Having that $L250 to start with might deter some camping. As it seems camping is the only way to make Ls when you first start.

It's only a fairly recent change (along with the harsh L$ buying restrictions for new residents which has been in place for a while longer now).

There's probably a fair amount of fraud going on with credit cards or PayPal, and the 45 days probably highlights the time for which LL won't receive any more chargebacks, or payment denied issues.

SL Exchange is, like someone else said, a 3rd party site. It is a place where merchants can sell their wares without people logging into SL itself (e.g. while they're working! ;) ) and people can buy and sell Lindens through the SLX (short for SL Exchange) system. Some people swear by the L$ trade in SLX in that it's possibly faster. Others don't like the commission rate that SLX charges for each trade. It's a personal preference. At any rate, SLX is not owned by Linden Lab, so are separate from any credit card issues you might have with LL itself. Hope this helps!

:)

And to add, if you find yourself in a bind over the trading limit and yet still want to purchase/sell L, this is the road to go. Do not buy from Ebay.. ever.

Well I can't find this linden lab exchange, search says there is no such place, tried LindeX, and got a list of casinos.
The first listing was most interesting, a casino, full of people and no way to get to it, I was the wrong access level to cross the board. A private casino?

None the less it seems the only $L exchange I can find is SLX.
Now I have to wonder if it is worth upgrading to the premium membership.

They only accept people with "payment info used" because those are the ones who have money to loose.
