While reading all the forums and doing some research on Linden Research Inc. I found a company that bought into SL and made a virtual store that sells thier rl product. I found a quote that was posted on thier site Living it up in a parallel world . "Linden's Fleck says that the key to Second Life's success is letting people do whatever they desire. "Our founder Philip Rosedale's vision was to create this open canvas, so people can be whatever they want to be, and can do whatever they want to do."" discuss... lol

Its just as he gets older, it's starting to become tunnel vision. Instead of can be whatever they want/do what they want, its now becoming "Do what we want or we take your stuff away".

Without it, we would be stuck in caves living hand to mouth. Hoping the next plague misses our clan.

I don't think this is Phil's vision anymore. I think that this is now the investors' vision, in which they make lots of money and screw the customers in the process.
Phil has about as much control of SL now as we do, frankly.

while there are mulptiple threads open about this subject, this forum is technically for residents seeking answers to SL-related questions.
this thread is posted as a discussion and offers no real valuable information that could be used to answer any questions; therefor, it has been closed. (although there are a couple interesting points of view on the matter)
