Is there a way to copy a word or text document in-world to a notecard? Thank You. Copy and paste works for most stuff. But you may have problems with MS Word files. If you do, save the file text-only, and open it with a text editor other than Word. Then you can copy and paste from that source. When I go from Word to SL, I usually paste it into Textedit first, then immediately re-copy it there and can paste it into a Notecard after that. Not sure what's screwy about MS Word. Couldn't possibly be anything ood about any of their products, could there? *smirks* _____________________
Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

It's just that Word has an entire markup language embedded in the document, and the clipboard will try and preserve as much of that markup as possible - and of course notecards only know plain old text..

Here's how I do it: Write in Word, save as, select 'plain text (.txt') - when it tells you that formatting will be lost, select 'MS-DOS text encoding' and tick 'allow charater substitution'. In the preview window it changes all your wiggly apostrophes into plain ole apotrophes notecards can recognise. Save the file, open it with text editor, copy and paste.
Yeah, it's not really directly from Word to a notecard, but you still get to use the spellcheck ![]() |

Just open Notepad. Copy and paste from Word into Notepad, and then from Notepad into a SL Notecard. Just a few clicks and no need to Save As. Works like a charm.

I'm sure it was an accident, but please try not to post the same question twice, especially not in the same forum. I suggested using Notepad much earlier, in /327/c7/176867/1.html.

If you're having trouble using the toolbar Cut and Paste, simply highlight the text and use Ctrl C to copy and Ctrl V to paste.
