I have started opening with with one other resident. At the moment we both have to be on group listings to sell items and sell our items individually. We are in the process of having a range of clothing designed for us. My question is, is there a way of making everything joint owned so we are working for US rather than for ourselves? We are relying on eachothers honesty on sales to invest money into the business, whereas if there was a way of all items going to "shop" for instance, we can pay from this fund and allocate payments to ourselves.
Can the group system be used for this, or is it strictly for land dealings?
Any suggestions gratefully received

as long as the item is group owned, I believe all proceeds of sales go to the group and evenly distributed to the members of the group. You do have to make sure you have that setting checked as well. split vendors are a good way too but then you may be looking at additional purchases. Good Luck

The easiest solution is for both of you to put your merchandise in vending systems that allow you to pay a percentage of sales to a partner. APEZ, JEVN, and several other vending systems allow this, and work well. He puts what he makes in his vendors in the store, and designates you to get a 50/50 split of profits. You do the same with what you make. You both run the shop, as a group.
I'm a little curious though about your statement "We are in the process of having a range of clothing designed for us.". What motovation would someone have, to design clothes that are worth buying, and then sell them to you for a fixed price, so you can then profit from selling them indefinitely? Why not simply sell the clothes themselves? I've designed a few clothing items for very specific purposes, like a club owner who wanted a 'uniform' for his waitresses and off-duty strippers to wear around the club. But as far as general-purpose, sellable to anyone clothes? What I would have to charge you to make it worth my effort would be more than your likely profits for many, many months or years to come. Financially, it doesn't make much sense.
I would urge you to seriously consider simply learning how to make the clothes yourselves. It's not difficult to learn, really. And anything you design, you really own unique rights to.
If someone sells you a box with 20 outfits in it, "custom designed for you", what is to stop them from selling the same box full of clothes to thousands of other newbies, completely devaluing what you bought by making it an item that anyone could buy almost anywhere? I would be very cautious about such an offer.
It may be that you have an honest person to provide those clothes for you. I hope for your sake that you do. But do be careful... Most 'business in a box' offers are scams, selling freebies and stolen products to unsuspecting newcomers.

yes stick em on a commission vendor or get a script made that you can stick in each box with your uuid's on it and 50/50 split for each since its just the two of you there is no need even for vendors just tailor a script to split the proceeds of the purchase in half
Probably can just take a freebie script out there and cut out the bits you dont need and stick in your uuid's etc and then your done

. I actualy could not figure this out for the longest time myself but I have now met a couple of actually talented people that do this and they both have reasons that make sense to me one of them hates people lol she just wants to design things and would rather design it and sell the product to a couple of people and be done with it (she makes skins and they do look pretty good at least the photos I have seen never taken a close look) the other who has tried a couple of things does it this way because they would rather receive one lump sum then manage a store they find it easier for them so they do some contract works but not for clothes though err I dont think? in general there are not a lot of people who will do this but there are a couple and it kinda makes sense to me as it is their personality as long as its a custom one time job that they wll sell to no one else if you want to pay the price its fine. They both seem honest and I have not seen any complaints of them ripping people off so there is a crowd in SL that likes to do this and me too I could not see the point i figured if you had the talent you wuold want to set up your own shop but in a small number of cases they may have the talent want to make a few bucks but dont want to get into heavy duty customer service and do a retail shop so makes sense if you think about it.
