This glowing white ball is driving me nuts!

I think it might have something to do with voice... and I'm okay with being hooked in to voice, but the glowing ball is going to be the death of me. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

Disable voice.

I find it reassuring ... I know who can or cannot hear me.

OH yes ... or be in a voice IM or conference. If in private voice then public voice is not available until done with.

I'd be fine with seeing it on other people if I could just make mine invisible to me. =(

I keep thinking I've got a partical effect somehow latched into my attachments (not unusual since I use public sandboxes to link my necklaces).

Didn't want to disable voice right off the bat, but if it's the only way to get rid of my pet fairy light, guess it's gonna go.

Or give yourself a chance to get used to it.

It took me ages not to grrr at using Search instead of Find.

Blonde question here...... can someone who hasn´t got voice enabled actually see who does?? Kinda would be cool to know who may not be listening to my fingers doing the talking :)

Yeah, it really needs to go. At least client-side removal.

Personally I would prefer others not being able to see if I use voice either, it's bound to cause discrimination.

No, you can't. You have to enable Voice yourself to get a visual indication of who is actually Voice Enabled.

Reason: If you have Voice disabled, the viewer doesn't force you to connect to the Voice provider and use any of your bandwidth or processing time on Voice-related infos.

I won't be discriminating against people for using voice, just reckon it might be useful to know who is. I'm presuming here that those who use voice can see that i'm not, so why not the other way? Rethorical question, because Day has really answered that one already (thanks for that).

It would be nice to be able to have voice enabled and not see the dot above one's avatar. It is not beyond the powers of human intellect to display one's voice status in an alternate manner, but then what does one expect from folks that display text you are supposed to be able to read as one shade of gray on a similar shade of gray, good judgement?

It does seem like something they'll eventually get around to adding preferences for.

The thing is they just added this. Why? Who knows. More like they just added this just for the sake of adding stuff. It wasn't necessary before so why add it?
