Is anyone else experiencing slowdown after using the camera focus? WhenI was shopping last night and using camera focus to see the wares in each store I visited, I noticed a peculiar and frustrating problem: a few minutes after using camera focus, the camera movement would begin to slow down and stutter so that just turning a few degrees would take up to 30 seconds. Even worse, when I returned the view to my avatar, this stutter and slowdown persisted. This wasn't like the snail movement you get when the server is lagged. This was more like SL was suddenly taking up huge amounts of memory and my computer wasn't keeping up. I don't have an FPS meter, but it seemed to me that it was the framerate that was deteriorating, since it looked like I was in a slideshow.
Has anyone else experienced this? How did you resolve it? I did double check the preferences, since I remembered that the new viewer "optimized" our options for us without our consent. I had already returned the options to what I had before the update (reduced the number of particles, reduced the draw distance to the minimum, turned off bump-mapping and shininess, changed terrain detail to low). So I don't think this is something from the preference options.
Any thoughts? The only way to fix the slowdown is to teleport and begin the process anew. The problem only arose if I used the camera focus. If I teleported to a new place and didn't use the camera focus, then the framerate stayed normal......until I finally decided to use camera focus.
