I cannot find how to make an extra ALT account. Speaking to residents, the method they used has disappeared.

So how does my present account have a linked (on the credit card and email) additional alt?

Hi Georgie, it seems the way to do it now is to use your real name/birthdate/gender but use an additional email account instead of your present one. At leat, that's what looks like the present way of doing it.
Then, you can input your credit card info.

K. So the new character would have my old characters funds paid to it ingame. But the Inventory content would be a problem. My objective will be to have the new character my main and eventually kill the old. Do this all on one credit card. But a new email is needed?

Are you named after a certain Australian rugby player?

Your new character as far as in-world is concerned will be totally independent with own name, inventory etc. You can 'friend' your alt and give them anything transferable from your inventory. Non-transfer items will need to be rebought.
Financially, your characters will only share your cc info. I'm not quite sure what you mean by your funds being payable to your alt. Your alt will be a different character.
Yes, one cc but each account at present (glitch a la LL!) requires own email account.

In-game, my old Georgie character ought to be able to pay all its L$ to the new avatar. I am going to try using Georgie to search for the new avatar and callup its Profile. I'm hoping there is a method there to pay over in stages all the L$ in Georgie's funds.

This was tested just now. I can search for any name in SL, friend or not friend, logged in or not logged in, and pay whatever I want to pay to that found resident.

So the Lindens transfer is not a problem but the Inventory non-tranfer items present a problem. I am going to test later when I have my two avatars available, whether I can place non-transfer items in a prim and give that prim to the new avatar. I suspect that the non-transfer items are not ever allowed to leave the first inventory.

Correct Georgie. Non-transfer is just that, whether single item, contained in a box or embedded in something like a script.
Yes, money transfer between characters is as you suggest. I give my alt spending moeny often .... and she spends it too!! :D

Again a slight misunderstanding. I want my new character to be the main. A Premium account will be started.

There is no such thing as alts any more as far as I can judge.

So I am hoping to transfer everything across to the new avatar and kill the old, closing that account.

Yes, I will sadly lose some expensive items when Georgie is slain.

In addition, my forum presence will be of the new SL account.

What you have to do is this;

Create a new basic account.

Transfer everything you have that is transferable - funds, clothes, any extra goodies that can trans, to the new account.

Downgrade Georgie, and if you choose, delete.

Upgrade the new one. You're going to have a period in between when both are premium probably, because of how it works, but there is no way around it. If you have assets like land, set them to only being able to be sold to your new account, upgrade your new account, and purchase the land with it.

Other than that... I don't really understand the problem with it.

An alt is just another account. It has no way to share inventory, Premium member benefits, or whatever with any other account. That has always been the case.

You can transfer L$ and transferrable inventory to your alt, the same way you can pay or give inventory to anyone else. You can set your land for sale only to your alt, presuming the alt also has a Premium account, and the alt can buy it. Or you can sell the land that you have now to someone else, and give the profits to the alt. Given your circumstances, I would sell the land to someone else and get new land elsewhre, to make a fresh start.

You can NOT transfer a non-transferrable item to the alt. No transfer is just that. Not transferrable. You'll have to re-purchase those items with the alt from the original sources, for the alt to have them.

My advice, based on your posts in this and other threads: Create a new Premium member account. Use valid info, and go ahead and use the same credit card or a different one or PayPal, it doesn't matter. Leave the old account active for now, but don't log in with it after you transfer inventory, except to pass your accumulated stipend to the new account.

You said you have 11 months left on the old account's Premium membership? Well, let it sit there and collect Stipend money until there is less than a month to go on that account. Then transfer the accumulated funds to the new account (or pay them from one to the other monthly). When you have less than a month to go, tier that old account down to Basic, and once it is Basic, cancel it or just ignore its existance.

This gets your new account most of your funds and transferrable assets, and does not waste the majority of what you paid for on the first Premium account.

Good luck!
