Where is my island gone?

Hiya peeps!

I have a question hehe

I currently have an island but want to buy another to the south of it...

but..

How the hell do i find my island on the land store map to purchase it? lol

I have looked at the map in sl, then looked at it in the land store yet i just can't find it to click grrrrr

Can anyone help please?

Internet Explorer 7 does not work at the Land Store. You have to use Firefox or Opera. You also have to be very very patient until all the islands rez. Then, you use your mouse to see which island is which, by clicking on the squares or maybe by hovering over them.

hehe i am on opera and have tried all that but still can't find it omg!

oh this is stupid!

Why cant we just have a bit on landstore that you enter location in and it goes to it,, why does it have to be so awkward omg!

Can't you compare where your island is on the in-world map then ballpark it on the land store map?

Sharon, IM the Concierge. They can find your island for you. They can also make arrangements to place your new island where you want it, as long as it doesnt conflict with other existing islands.

Another good tip is to find clusters of islands that area near yours. If there's a recognizable pattern or such, you can look for that instead on the landstore map.

yay i found it!

but can't order the sim next to it as its still saying on the land store that the sim i brought is still owned from the guy i brought it from... so have had to email Concierge anyway hehe

That would be functional, not cool and graphical. That's why.
I guess we should be glad they haven't decided the text on the web site needs outlines and shadows.

Help / About Second Life

The "You are at XXX, YYY" numbers give you the grid location to your sim. To make those usable in the land store you have to divide the number by 256 and round down.

Go the landstore map, and in the address bar:
j*avascript:dblClickHandler(XX,YY);
(Remove the * cause vB wouldn't let me post it as-is )

That will put the focus on your sim, so just zoom in (it might be easier to add/substract 1 from the X/Y to make it easier to spot the highlight on the land map).

Hi Sharon,

Go to your menu, Client, and check View Admin Options. No go into Server, God Tools. The first tab will have your landstore grid coordinates in the top right of page. No need for any maths, just use these numbers directly.
