...whenever I log in, I appear in flight mode. Not only that, but it usually takes two or more tries to stop flying and stay anchored to the ground.
It's only a minor annoyance, but it didn't start happening until recently.

Try resetting your home location while you're on the ground. That should clear it up.

I get that too....I'm floating, but the button below isn't activated to say "stop flying"...so I click "fly" and I fall down, then click "stop flying" and I shoot up...so yeah, same thing, I need to click it 3 or 4 times to finally get to a standing position. In the meantime I look like a moron falling down and jumping up over and over.

That has been happening to me for months . If you happen to log back on somewhere where flying is disabled, Client / Enable Admin Options will enable the Fly button letting you get back to normal.

From: Chip Midnight Try resetting your home location while you're on the ground. That should clear it up. That's probably it in my case, Chip. I did recently re-set my home location. I'll try it!

That used to happen to me when I wore a certain AO. I would log in and be hovering even though I was supposedly standing on the ground.
If you're wearing an AO or other flight device, try detaching and reattaching.

Also remove flight assist HUDs and other attachments since they may not be initializing properly. The best test is to detach all prims and relog and see what happens.

I noticed this the day I first attached a flight assist a few years back. Took it off and I logged in standing on the ground, reattached the flight assist and I was flying after login.

From: Porky Gorky I noticed this the day I first attached a flight assist a few years back. Took it off and I logged in standing on the ground, reattached the flight assist and I was flying after login. Yep. Odds are it was my PrimOptic Sunglasses With Built In Flight Assist. At least, I didn't get the problem after I took them off. Note to self: IM PrimOptics about bugs on their specs.
