help?

well, not for me o.o; but my friends been unable to log onto his account and get into the world these last couple of nights(he was on for a year at least before that o.o; so his computer reachs all requirments)

. i even gave him my accounts name and password.. but no good, seems theres something wrong with his client, so i tell him to reinstall, come to find out he's already done that a couple of times. if anyone can provide some answers as to why he wouldn't be able to log on from his computer, i and he would be very thankful o.o;

When you say that his compy matches the system requirements, do you mean current requirements or from a year ago? There've been changes, so if that's not been checked against current needs, I'd look there first.

Also, did he re-do his password since the database hack?

well, its seems odd that the requirements would have changed so drastically within the last couple of days o.o; but yes, he still meets the requirements, and he did redo his password..in fact he was the one who told me about that whole deal since i never got the email notification.

So sorry thought you meant it'd been a year since he was inworld. What is the error he gets when trying to connect?

very typical error message.

since of course one never gives out their passowords, can he borrow someone else's computer/connection and is he then able to log in? (the computer vs acct question)

Did any of his firewall settings/systems get changed? newview.exe as I understand it is the bit to add to exclusion lists. Maybe that got borked and removed?

I'm grasping at straws here, wish I could think of something less obvious.

well.. i did give him my account name and password and he wasn't able to log in with my account..still got the same error^^; so i assume its the client but i'll pass one this forum..and hope some advice pops up thats of use

I used to have to reset my firewall everytime we had an update or I couldn't get in.
