I'd like anyone in my group to be able to rez objects on my land and not have them returned after an hour (my current setting). Do I have to deed the land to the group to make this happen? Simply setting the group for the land doesn't seem to do it.
I find instructions for deeding land to a group but I don't find a description of what that accomplishes. And direct links to articles in the knowledgebase take me to the search page rather than the article.

be carefull tho becuase once you deed your land to the group the group owns the land, therefore any of the officers can sell it off, or if you sell it off your money will be distributed to the other officers as well
if you deed your land the objects of other members will need to be set to that group as well, or else its just biz as normal

Do I *need* to deed land to the group to accomplish these things:
1) The land options specify no object creation 2) The group officers have "always able to create objects" abilities in their role 3) Any group officer may create objects on the land
Currently I have the land's group set to my group, the officers' role abilities for object creation set, but only I can create objects on the land. Other officers are denied.
I want officers of the group and only officers of the group to be able to create objects on the group's land.

From: Anna Gulaev Do I *need* to deed land to the group to accomplish these things: I do believe so. I know that you can do them by deeding the land. Also, the same tools that allow you to do this also allow you to set things up such that what Osgeld warns you of is not the case. However, what she warns you of is the default and is the case unless you bother to change the relavent settings.

If you set the land to a group without deeding it, and others place objects on the land, they will not be returned on auto-return if the objects are set to the same group. You do not need to deed the land, just make sure the land and objects are set to the same group. I have this setup on my land. - Sam

I`m confused. Do you want non-officer group members to be able to rez stuff, or not?I'd like anyone in my group to be able to rez objects on my land and not have them returned after an hourIf you want what you say in your first post, Sam`s instructions are correct.I want officers of the group and only officers of the group to be able to create objects on the group's land.If you want what you say in your second post, you need to deed the land.

Here's how it seems to work:
With the land "set to group" and "create objects" turned off, only the parcel owner can create objects, even though the officers have "always create objetcs" abilities attached to their roles.
With land "set to group" and "create objetcs" turned on, *anyone* can create objects. Objects created by group members, officer or not, are not autoreturned.
With land deeded to the group, it works as I want. I can turn off object creation, but anyone in the group that I give "always create objetcs" ability to through their role (officer or not; my choice) can still create objetcs.

Here's how it seems to work:[....]Exactly. Please beware, however, that there are issues with the scenario. For example: scripted object creation only works when the owner is present in the sim, or when the owner is the group.

Your officers (who has the ability to create) probably need to wear their group tag (have that group active) for this to work. I know that if i rez an object in Luna (Linden owned sim) and i dont wear the tag, the object is returned. If i wear the correct tag, then it stays. So I think you need to set to autoreturn, but building ok.
Maybe you need to deed, in that case, make sure you set the correct rights for every level (owner, officer, everyone). If you do so, its not true that others can sell your land or that they will recive money if its sold. It used to be like this, its not anymore ... Just make sure you check all rights in all groups so they match your intentions.
