Hi !
I've just bought some land and would like to have a certain person build me a unique house on it. How do I give that person permission to do so? I've heard that making a group and letting the building person become an officer is dangerous because the officer can sell the land to it self for 0 L$ if he/she wanted to do so.
So how do I give a person permission to build in a safe way?

Set up a new role and go through the role's permissions very carefully. Allow build, allow scripts, do not allow land sales or group money to go to them.

Thank's, Coyote. There are so many things to choose between in the role settings, but I'll give it a try.

Send me an IM in-world. I have a notecard that I give to clients, which explains exactly how to set up a land group and roles in that group to allow a custom builder and terraformer to safely work on your land. I'll gladly give you a copy.

Flyboy, no need to create a group. In your About Land window, Options tab, check the box where it says Create Objects, All Residents. That way anyone can create any objects on your parcel. BTW, make sure the Autoreturn is set to 0(zero).

How about him building the thing at his place and just giving you the Object and then you simply Rez it on your land and orient it the way you want?

I'd agree that te best bet is to let him build it elsewhere and then install it, finished, on your land. That could be difficult if your land has an awkward shape or is not level, though.
