I'm confused.

I thought that sharing private chat was a violation of the LL TOS. Now I've been told that is NOT the case and that ANYTHING I say can be shared, posted, quoted to anyone.

I looked the TOS over and didn't find the portion that touches on this question.

Can someone fill me in on this please.

I have enough trust issues without worrying about my private chats being spread far and wide.

Thanks

Not sure where in the ToS it says anything about IMs, but I have always been under the impression that it is against ToS to share IMs within the SL world. However, I beleive there is nothing stopping people from emailing, blogging about, or posting IMs outside of SL, but may be wrong about that. Bottom line is... even in IMs watch what you say if you do not wish it to come back to haunt you later.

If its posted on LL servers, ie: the blogs, here etc. then its against the TOS. If its posted on any website not under LL control then LL cannot do anything about it. Thats it in a nutshell and HTH :)

Sharing personal information about a fellow Resident --including gender, religion, age, marital status, race, sexual preference, and real-world location beyond what is provided by the Resident in the First Life page of their Resident profile is a violation of that Resident's privacy. >>Remotely monitoring conversations, posting conversation logs, or sharing conversation logs without consent are all prohibited in Second Life and on the Second Life Forums.<<

Also LL can choose to take action for things posted on blogs and other things not on their servers..they can pretty much bann you for any reason the feel like it..it's just a rare thing that they would..
