I buried an object (that makes a sound) underground and now I can’t find it. I don’t have rights to dig on my property and it does not show when I go to Show Objects in About Land. I’ve spent time literally crawling around and I can hear the thing but can’t find it to delete it. Anybody have this problem before or have any idea how to get the object?

Menu: View --> Beacons --> Sound Sources.

That'll help.

CTRL-ALT-D to turn on your "debug" menus. Then:
Client --> Rendering --> Types --> Surface Patch

to turn off the ground, makes selecting buried objects easier.

Another way to look for an item underground is to go to the same debug menu (Client) mentioned in the previous message and disable the camera constraints. Then you can use the camera controls to move your camera underground and look around for it.

On a related note, this is not a bad idea for anyone building to do occasionally. A good place to look is near the southwest corner of your sim too. I found an entire house down there in ours. It somehow got moved to 0,0,0. In a neighboring sim, the southwest corner has dozens of items stuck down there and I can see many lost prims below some structures that have been built.
