...Now you don't

Has anyone else had this issue, or know what the deal is?

Here is my account of exact steps taken and the results (from this morning, after the announcement by some Linden in-world that an issue had been resolved -- I wasn't in for the issue):

I created a ring using several prims, and linked them, then renamed it.

I changed the textures (successfully) of the prims.

I then inserted 3 Copyable, Transferrable *NO MOD* scripts into a few of the prims making up the ring. I then took the ring into inventory.

I searched under the name I saved it as.

I searched under the Recent Items tab.

I searched through every "object" in inventory (I rezzed each and every one) from Objects folder, to Lost & Found, to Trash and every single folder I had.

I logged off, cleared cache and relogged in.

I sniffed my coffee to be sure nobody had spiked it.

The ring has completely vanished. It's nowhere named Object, it's nowhere under the name I gave it.

*Note: I've used that self-same script in other items I've made using that method (inserting the script only into select prims of the main object) and encountered absolutely no problem whatsoever.

Anyone else with a similar experience?

Yes. It happened to me today. Just before we got a message about some asset server malfuntion.

Thankfully it was just a box full of clothes I was putting into storage so no great loss.

Sorry about your ring.

Aha! Ok, well then I guess it isn't just me, I'm not going insane *cough*fromthat*cough* and nobody spiked my coffee (damn the luck!)

Maybe I'll try again this afternoon when my blood pressure isn't likely to get to an alarming level :)

Thanks!

I bought a L$450 item this morning from a vendor, never made it to my inventory. IM'd the owner, hopefully he will replace it. :(

Seems to be a problem. I've lost a few items the past few days. Some newly purchased, some I've had for a while. Disappeared without a trace.

Yeah, I hate that. I lost about L$2000 worth of inventory yesterday...this is the third time I lost "expensive" items since I joined SL, which was just last Fall...happens from time to time

At times I will 'lose' or misplace items in inventory and spend time searching then after a few
failed searches I will force myself to focus on something else.

Which can be difficult at times because of whatever amount of importance I may have attached to that item in my mind.

But it almost always seems to magically reappear at some later point.

There are so many issues that could affect your ability to 'see' something in your inventory
that it definitely is not worth driving yourself crazy over. :)
