Can this be done?

Ok so im wondering can i change my sl name as there are people that have my name i wish them not to?

You can't change your name, but you can certainly make a new account with a different name. LL has talked about one day maybe allowing people to change names, but there are compelling arguments on both sides of that issue. I don't see it as becoming an option any time soon. They've got much more pressing matters to attend to.

As for other people having your name, there will always be 499 other people who have your last name. The amount of people who might choose to have your first name is about 6 billion, the population of the Earth. Anyone can have any first name they want, obviously. It's highly unlikely you'll ever think of one that no one else will think of.

Nobody will ever have your first and last name together though but you, so I'm really not sure why you're concerned. You're the only Xebian Alas there is, and that will never change.

my problem is i have some spitfull people i have fallen out with and im sure they are gonna couise my trouble like 1 person gettin all there friends to file complaints and get me closed down out of spite iv just split with my sl wife and rl partner and i know she will make my life hell.

I was wondering if it is possible to retrive an avatars abuse reports list. It is so easy for a spitefull person to "get all of there friends to send abuse reports". Typical high-school behavior, except for the fact that in SL it will cause harm. All the time, energy and in most cases RL money, can go out the virtual window, because some non-medicated individual has nothing better to do with there time than send false reports. PHEW- well after that long winded rant... there has to be a way to find out How,Why, and from whom, the abuse reports came from.

1) You have more chance of finding the Holy Grail than getting LL to reveal the source of abuse reports.
2) You only need worry about abuse reports if you actually did something wrong. A few dozen he said/she said ARs won't achieve anything...unless he did/she did something absolutely terrible. And even then you're unlikely to get permabanned for a first offence. Unless you tried to bring the grid down or something.

If too much water really has gone under the bridge with regards to former friends...you could always create a new account, start again and embrace your third life.

No offense, but we are talking about the adult grid here, right? Everything you're describing is the stuff of 12-year-olds. If you're an adult, interacting with other adults, I wouldn't be so worried about this kind of thing. If you're not, I'd suggest moving over to the teen grid where you belong.

In any case, filing multiple false abuse reports is a bannable offense. The Lindens are perfectly capable of investigating whether a report is legit, and if it's not, believe you me, they won't be thrilled at having had their time wasted. I can't speak for them, obviously, but I'd be mighty surprised if they didn't see fit to discipline the false accuser.

On a final note, it appears you were less than truthful here about your motivations for wanting to change your name. In your first post, you said it was because you thought other people had your name, and in your second, all of a sudden it's because you're afraid you've developed enemies. If the latter is the case, and so many people are indeed so angry at you as you say, maybe it's because you've had honesty issues with them as well? If that's the case, all I can say is ye reap what ye sow. Good luck.
