How do I know how many prims?

I am a recent new renter in SL. We have a certain allotment of prims to add to our property. Some furniture says how many prims it is when I buy it...some don't. How can I tell what I am actually adding to the house?

Thanks

Right click on the item and select edit. The General tab will say how many prims the object is about 1/2 way down the window

Hi Gillian,

If you right-click on the object and go to 'edit' you should be able to see how many prims it has by looking at the edit window that comes up. I can't remember which tab it's on, but it is listed there.

Cheers,

Many times you can not tell before you buy the object. If you need to know, your best bet is to IM the object creator. I bought a really nice chair for my house that ended up being over 60 prims!

Yeah, but it's a REALLY NICE chair! :)

Since my house is only 33 prims and I own 1024 sq ms, it actually fits nicely. :)

Sometimes the information does not show up in the edit. In those cases, I select the item as if I am about to sit on it, then go to About Land. In the Objects tab, it should show you the number of prims in the item selected/sat upon.

Where these people are telling you bring up the editing window, besure to hit the "More" button and it'll show in the general information.

I really wish LL would add the number of prims of an object in the Properties tab when in your inventory. I think that would save people a lot of trouble.

I had been following the Edit/More method, but not having any success. Nothing was showing in the Primitives section. This was only happening to objects I had not already purchased, i.e. wanting to know how many prims something had before buying. However, I have now found that if I right click on the object, bring up the Edit/More menu and then right click a second time on the object, the prims do now appear. If anyone out there is experiencing the same "greyed out" box for the prim details as I was, give it a go. Just right click the object a second time. I do not have this problem using the same method with items that I have already purchased. The prims show up immediately in the Edit/More screen.

You have "Select only my objects" set in Tools.
